How awesome! Pyres are not allowed in most of the US.  Funeral pyres are an old, old Pagan traditions, performed by Greeks, Vikings, and many others. It’s how I want to go out when I die, along with two coins under my tongue to pay the ferryman, of course. Hopefully pyres will be available on a wider scale by the time I die (not that anyone can really know when they are going to die, but hopefully it’ll be in a long while ; ) What’s interesting is that the woman whose funeral this was not religious at all, but thought that the pyre was a beautiful ritual.  Very interesting.
